Description: Wildlife rescue organisation rescuing and caring for native animals that are sick, injured, or orphaned. The organisation's mission is to actively rehabilitate and conserve Australian wildlife and encourage others to do the same. WIRES operates a dedicated Wildlife Rescue Office that assists wildlife and communities across Australia 24/7, 365 days a year. They provide rescue advice and assistance for over 130,000 animals every year and have full-time mobile Wildlife Emergency Responders covering Greater Sydney, South-East Queensland, and Tasmania.

Volunteering: Over 180,000 calls for wildlife rescue advice and assistance are made annually to the WIRES Rescue Office, resulting in hundreds of animals in need every day across NSW. We are always accepting new volunteers so that we can respond as quickly as possible to assist sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.

Facilities note: WIRES volunteers regularly provide wildlife talks to school and community groups.
