Description: Bushcare is a community-based volunteer program that helps regenerate and preserve bushland owned or managed by Council. Free training, technical advice, tools, plants, newsletters and celebrations are provided to support Bushcare volunteers. Volunteers are essential to the preservation of Willoughby’s bushland. There are currently more than 40 groups throughout Willoughby working in bushland, parks, creek lines and on street verges. There is also a plant propagation group. Meeting times vary for each group, but most meet once a month for 3 hours. Duke of Edingburgh Award applicants welcome.
Volunteering: Typically volunteers will be involved with: Bushcare training, Pest and native plant identification, Hand weeding, Woody weed removal, Site regeneration work, Wildlife observations, Native plantings. Register online
