Description: The Taronga Wildlife Hospital is located within the Taronga Zoo grounds, but has a separate entrance for wildlife admissions located at the end of Whiting Beach road. Around 1000 native animals are admitted to the Hospital each year, and they receive professional veterinary care and rehabilitation. Native animals are brought to the Taronga Wildlife Hospital by members of the community and wildlife rescue groups after being found sick, injured or orphaned. Where possible, animals are treated, rehabilitated and given permanent identification prior to release back to the wild. NOTE: Only wild, native animals are accepted at the Hospital. All pets should be taken to local veterinary clinics.
