Description: Gives encouragement and support to Australian writers, published and unpublished. Consists of both active writers and people merely interested in literature and in supporting Australian literature and authors. Publishes a quarterly newsletter with information about grants and competitions. Activities: Manuscript reading, guest speakers, seminars and workshops. For both non-fiction, fiction and poetry, publishing availability is made known to members. There are 12 branches in the Sydney region, over 22 regional branches and a Isolated Writers Group.
