Description: The Westmead Hospital Department of Rehabilitation Medicine provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to inpatients and outpatients of Westmead Hospital with disabling conditions. Clinical units within the Department include: Amputee & Prosthetic Service; Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (BIRS); Developmental Disability; General Rehabilitation; SMART Rehabilitation; Spina Bifida; Orthotics. The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine employs a number of Staff Specialists, Registrars, RMOs and clinical nurse specialists who take responsibility for coordinating the rehabilitation care for the above units.
