Description: Gig Buddies Sydney is an initiative of ACL Disability Services. It is for adults (18+) with mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism. Going out to see bands, clubbing, or seeing friends is part of everyday life for many people. However, if you have a learning disability you may need support to do this. As a Gig Buddies participant, you can be paired up with a volunteer 'gig buddy' and go out together once a month. A 'gig' is whatever you want it to be: opera, theatre, bushwalking, sport, playing pool, food markets etc. You can also go to social events hosted by the Gig Buddies team (with or without your volunteer).
