Description: North Sydney SES is one of 11 units which service the Sydney Northern Region (spanning the Lower/Upper North Shore, Northern Beaches, Central Coast and west to Ryde and Hunters Hill). North Sydney SES is a group of approximately 40 highly trained volunteers, able to assist its local community in planning, preparing, managing and recovering from the impact of storms, floods and other natural emergencies. The two main areas of operation within the Unit are: 1. Storm Response: which is work undertaken in the field when help is needed to rescue people and preserve property (e.g. chainsaw, storm & water damage, land search, swiftwater rescue) 2. Operations: which is work that supports the storm response effort, builds capability within the team and resilience within the community (e.g. training, media, community engagement, logistics, communications, member support).

Volunteering: The North Sydney SES welcomes new members at different times during the year. If you live in the area of the North Sydney local government area, are at least 16 years of age, would like to contribute to the community and learn new skills - contact North Sydney SES.
