Description: Sexton's Cottage Museum and St Thomas' Rest Park provide a snapshot of life and death in Australia from the early Victorian period. The Rest Park is the site of the former St Thomas' cemetery, the oldest European burial ground on the North Shore dating back to 1845. Its interments include figures of local and state significance such as land owner and politician Alexander Berry, artist Conrad Martens and explorer and navigator Owen Stanley. Group tours available outside opening hours by appointment. Brochures are available from Stanton Library and the park incorporates interpretive signs. St Thomas' Rest Park is an off-leash dog exercise area, and also contains a large, fully fenced children's playground that has been sympathetically designed to complement the historic and commemorative character of the Rest Park. The playground features extensive landscaping and tree planting and a fixed shade sail provides additional shade for playground users.

Volunteering: Volunteers are needed for museum supervision and to act as tour guides.
