Description: The Criminal Justice Support Network provides support to people with intellectual disability at police stations, legal appointments and at court, and court-related processes. CJSN support is independent from court and police and assists the person to understand their rights. CJSN is not legal advice, but does involve linking the person with legal advice and assisting them to understand it. Police support is available between 9am and 10pm 7 days a week. Offers training to existing support networks especially in regions or communities not reached by the volunteer network. Provides information, training and resource materials about supporting people with intellectual disability in the criminal justice system.
