Description: The Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia Inc (ADFA) is a not-for profit organisation working to provide support to people living with asbestos related diseases, family members, carers and friends. ADFA is a community based group and has a long history of being engaged in advocacy work within the Australian community, working to provide information to the community on the dangers of asbestos. The NSW Helpline number is 1800 006 196 and provides a guide to homeowners, workers and the general public on how to deal with asbestos. Information is available to explain about industrial hygienists, asbestos removalists, licensing or how to make a complaint about mishandling of asbestos. It provides a referral service to appropriate authorities. It is also available to carers and sufferers, should they need to talk to someone with experience of their situation.
