Description: Universal Health Home Visiting (UHHV) is offered to all families within two, at most four, weeks of the birth of a baby. The visit includes a holistic psycho social assessment, the provision of health education and referral to appropriate support services if necessary. The home visit is booked by staff at the child and family health nursing central intake. This intake service also makes appointments for clinic consultations and parenting group bookings. Sustained Home Visiting (SHV) is offered to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women and non-Aboriginal women expecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Islander babies. The service includes education and support during pregnancy and post-natal home visiting from birth to two years. Breastfeeding support sessions to assist mothers managing lactation and associated issues. New Parent Groups for carer networking and support and Introduction to Solids Talks.
