Medical and rehabilitation paediatric hospital and disability support services provider.
Provides care and support for children and young people, up to the age of eighteen, who have complex disabilities and medical needs for complex disability care, including genetic or chromosomal disorders, birth trauma, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and conditions acquired after birth including nursing and allied health support.
Services include: Short Term Respite; Support Coordination; After School Care; Equipment; School Holiday Care; Therapy; Communication; Getting Involved; Early Intervention; School Participation, and other supports. Children can be admitted to Allowah for a range of reasons, such as seizure management, spasticity management, feeding assessment and aspiration care and prevention, pressure area care, PEG and wound care and the like. Admissions may be overnight or for a midday admission, and are admitted under the care of the admitting medical practitioner.
