Description: A not-for-profit organisation dedicated to achieving gender equality in the Australian screen industry through research, advocacy, education and support for female-identifying screen industry practitioners. WIFT Australia operates nationally with a presence in all states and territories and provides a number of programs, events and initiatives throughout the year. This includes the Raising Films Australia initiative to support parents and carers, mentor programs, screenings, educational workshops and panel discussions. WIFT Australia circulates a monthly e-news to alert women of new opportunities as well as promotion of female-led work and has a strong presence in the industry to ensure women have a voice when policy and programs are developed. WIFT Australia also engages in research to uncover the nuances of gender inequality in screen, to develop the best strategies to address it and to advocate for change.
