Description: Information about Hornsby Council can be obtained from the Council's website. Hornsby Shire is situated on the lands traditionally owned by the Darug and Guringai people. Hornsby Shire was incorporated in March 1906 with first elections held in November of 1906. Currently, the elected Council for Hornsby Shire is made up of 10 local residents: a popularly elected Mayor and nine elected Councillors. General Meetings are held at 6:30pm on the third Wednesday of each month (excluding January). General Meetings are live-streamed via - http://hornsby.webcastcloud.com. Workshop Meetings which are held at 6:30pm on the first, second and/or fourth Wednesdays of each month as required (excluding January) to consider relevant items, especially those where a presentation by Council staff or an external person or organisation is required.
