Description: Lavender Cottage provides an extensive range of support to individuals with a disability from 0 to 70 years including skills development, therapy support, education, day and evening respite, holidays, camps, individual programs, social and recreational courses for individuals with any type of disability and welcomes suggestions and contributions to develop other initiatives. Lavender Cottage has a therapuetic focus offering aromatherapy, reflexology, therapeutic massage, specialist music programs and sensory room and garden. Highly skilled and trained staff and volunteers work with quality resources to provide activities to children such as after school care, weekend and vacation care programs as well as more individualised and group based adult activities. NWDS works closely with all sectors of the community to provide a safe, engaging environment for people to grow and contribute as a member of their local and wider community.

Hours: Office: Mon-Fri 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. Services are provided 24hrs, 7 days a week.

Fees: As a community organisation fees are maintained to a minimum.

Languages (other than English): Staff speak a range of languages. NWDS utilises interpreters to assist with communication when required.

Volunteering Note: Volunteers are an integral part of our team and NWDS welcomes and needs volunteer assistance whilst providing opportunity for volunteers to gain skills and also train to a career level. Volunteers can work in a team environment in office or group activities or build the skills to work independently. Volunteers can choose their own hours 24/7. Funds permitting, volunteers are supported to gain first aid, bus driving licenses and attend a range of training courses.
