Description: St Vincent's Hospital Sydney social workers are available to help patients, their families and carers with personal and practical challenges that arise when a patient or family member becomes ill. Offer counselling and emotional support at no charge, and can treat a variety of circumstances including: anxiety, family/relationship issues, crisis and trauma, bereavement, discharge and transfer of care, respite/rehabilitation, financial concerns, legal matters, domestic violence, victims of crime, child protection matters, mental health, drug and alcohol, sexual health, gambling, aged care and referring ongoing counselling and support. The Social Work department can also assist with Accommodation for regional and remote patients, Travel Assistance, and have a specialist Aboriginal Health Team. General Hospital to Inner City, Eastern, Southern Suburbs. Special units accept patients, from all over Australia
