Description: Not-for-profit organisation that transforms the lives of people with intellectual disability through sports participation and competition. Special Olympics are not just one single event. It happens year-round in communities across Australia. Sports for Inner West include: basketball, football (soccer), tennis, tenpin bowling, dance, ice skating. Sports available at other branches alpine skiing, aquatics (swimming at all levels), athletics, bocce, cricket, figure skating, golf, gymnastics, sailing, softball. Through sport, athletes are given the opportunity to develop skills, make friends and be part of the community regardless of their skill level. Under 8 years welcome but unable to compete.
